Organic Wine

In South Africa the term ´organic´ when used in the context of wine, it means that no chemicals, pesticides or herbicides were used in the growing of the vines and grapes used to create the wine. Only organic materials and compost are used in the vineyards and indigenous vegetation used for mulching. In addition, minimal sulphur dioxide is allowed to be used in the production process, less than half the amount normally used.
