Pinot Gris / Pinot Grigio

(Pee-noe Gree) / (Pee-noe Gree-joe) is one of the most well known clones of Pinot Noir. Often the wine obtains very high level of sweetness but rapidly loose acid when ripening. The bottled wine is usually fragrant and mildly floral with light lemon and citrus flavours including lemon, apple and pear. When made in an appropriate style the wine can be tangy and light or full bodied, well rounded and rich. It is a dry white wine that may even age well, although usually it is consumed quite soon after release.
