Roussane

[Ro o-sahn] is a white grape varietal. An extremely uncooperative vine with irregular yields and uneven and late ripening, and has little resistance to powdery mildew and rot and is therefore quite difficult to grow. However its unique aroma, flavours and acidity has ensured its continued production . The varietal performs well using barrel fermentation and oak aging and may be enjoyable years after the vintage. The aromas may be that of wild flowers or herbal teas with flavours of honey and pear.
