Sangiovese

[San-Joe-VEH-Zeh]is an Italian red wine variety. An absolutely gorgeous and rich, full bodied unique wine, South Africa does produce a number of wonderful examples. The vines mature slowly and ripen late in season and prefer a hot, dry climate. As a young wine, Sangiovese has fresh fruity flavour of strawberries, blueberries, orange peel, plum , violet and the spiciness cinnamon, thyme and clove. When aged in barrels it develops gorgeous oaky flavours .
